Comprehensive Planning

The Metropolitan Council requires that Cities update their Comprehensive Plan every ten years. The City Council established a Steering Committee on March 21st, 2016. The Committee will review public feedback and lead the process of drafting the 2040 Comprehensive Plan update. They meet monthly through June of 2017. The Comprehensive Plan guides future growth and development in the community for the next 20 years. It also establishes Minnetrista's vision as a community and sets goals and objectives which guide decisions and policies. The plan helps to direct investments in city services such as natural resources, parks and recreation, transportation, and water resources.
