*If you have not yet received a Recycling Calendar from Waste Management, the City's recycling service provider, please download one from the Waste Management website or pick one up at Minnetrista City Hall.

*Did you miss our semi-annual Recycle/Clean-up Day? Instead of waiting for our next event, why not drop your 'stuff' off at one of Hennepin County's year-round drop-off facilities ?

*It is not uncommon to see homeowners burning garbage in rural areas. However, did you know this practice is dangerous to your health and has been against the law since 1969? Today's household trash contains many types of plastics and paper treated with chemicals, coatings and inks that, when burned, are released into our air, seep into our soil and groundwater and ultimately ends up in our food? Learn how you can help educate your friends and neighbors to stop this damaging practice.

Why Does the City Coordinate a Recycling Program?

Hennepin County ordinance requires that the City provide for curbside recycling. While the County provides some grant dollars for this program, the City is required to pay for the rest of the program.

How Do I Get Started?

One single -sort recycling cart is provided free of charge to each residence and is picked up every other Friday.  Please have your recyclables out on the curb by 6:30 a.m.  Additional or larger carts can also be obtained. The following items may be co-mingled in the single-sort cart:

  • Clean Cans
  • Clean Glass
  • Clean Plastic bottles
  • Newspaper
  • Magazines
  • Boxboard
  • Cardboard
  • Phonebooks
  • Brown Grocery Bags

Download a calendar with the scheduled stops for your home at www.wmtwincities.com . Your recycling will be picked up on 'Gold' weeks if your home is north of County Road 15 or is on the 'Island'. Your recycling will be picked up on 'Green' weeks if your home is south of County Road 15.

Please note: If your regular service falls on or after a weekday holiday, your pick-up will be delayed one day. For further information contact City Hall at 952-446-1660.
