Mayor's Message- May 2023
Greetings,
Despite our very cold and windy spring, I’m hopeful that summer weather is just around the corner.
As they say in Minnesota; we have 2 seasons – winter and road construction. Here in Minnetrista the road construction season is about to begin. This year, we will be improving more roads than the city has ever done in one year including, reconstruction, reclamation and mill and overlays. You can view all this information on our website. It will show you which roads are being done, what type of improvement, the schedule, and the progress: https://www.cityofminnetrista.com/2023StreetImprovementProject
May is a busy month at City Hall! Not only will our road projects be underway, but this coming weekend, Saturday, May 6th is our annual City Recycle/Clean Up Day. The gates will be open from 8:00am-3:00pm. On Saturday, May 20th is our annual Trista Day from 11:00am to 2:00pm. This is a great family event. Come out and enjoy the many displays and fun activities!
May 1st is the start of our outdoor watering restrictions. If you are on the city’s system for watering your lawns and gardens, you can water your lawn every other day. We have an odd/even watering ordinance that is in place May 1st through September 30th. There’s more information on our website that can give you helpful tips on how to have a green lawn with less water.
Our annual City Bus Tour is back this year and will be held on Tuesday June 6th. Seats are filling up fast. If you’re interested in taking the tour, sign up soon. This is a fun and informative event designed to help you get to know your city.
On April 18th , I gave the State of the City Address. It was very well attended with a record crowd. Thank you to all that attended and to Burl Oaks Golf Club for allowing us to host this event in their beautiful facilities.
Until next time,
Your Mayor
