REVISED OUTDOOR WATERING SCHEDULE

The City of Minnetrista would like to thank residents for their cooperation with the Emergency Outdoor Water Ban implemented on June 8^th. Since the implementation of the ban, the heat has subsided some, but we still haven’t received any significant rain. 

Effective June 16, 2021, the City will be implementing a Revised Outdoor Watering Schedule for residents on City water. The goal is to allow residents to water their lawns some, and to maintain adequate levels in our water towers for fire protection. The Revised Outdoor Watering Schedule will remain in effect until further notice. 

The Revised Outdoor Watering Schedule and additional details are below: 

Keep in mind, the City still needs adequate water in its towers for fire protection, so please conserve as much water as possible. We are still encouraging residents to limit water usage even on their scheduled watering day. 

NO WATERING IS ALLOWED BETWEEN 10:00am AND 6:00pm ON ANY DAY

• The schedule allows two days of outdoor watering per week for any resident, one weekday, one weekend day.
• Even-numbered addresses may water on Wednesday and Saturday each week, but never between 10:00am and 6:00pm. 
• Odd-numbered addresses may water on Thursday and Sunday, but never between 10:00AM and 6:00PM. 
• All outdoor watering by mechanical or automatic means is prohibited on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
• Properties that have new sod or seeded lawns must obtain permission from the city for a permit to irrigate beyond these parameters. To obtain a water permit, please call the Minnetrista Police Department at 952-446-1131. Per City Code Section 700.33(6), any person violating the provisions of this section will be guilty of a misdemeanor and a fine may be imposed.
• Residents can still water plants, shrubs, flowers, etc., on any day using a hand-held hose.
• If you obtained a watering permit prior to June 16, 2021, it is still valid.

Properties using a private well are excluded from the outdoor watering schedule.
